Blast.From.Past.

I was searching through some of the older videos on Jason's computer tonight.  Apparently, I videoed Silas doing EVERYTHING.  I got to thinking....poor Jojo...I don't have very much video of him, other than holidays or birthdays...

I feel so bad about that! :(

But... Silas was such a lil cutie.  And I must warn you, when Silas was really learning to speak, I mean like, old enough to have conversations, he stuttered.  He suddenly started stuttering one day. Freaked.me.out.  I talked with the Speech Pathologist at school, and he assured me he was fine.  He told me to bring Silas to see him if I was really concerned.  I waited it out.  Within 4-5 months, it was over.  It ended as quick as it started.  The stutter was here one day, gone a few months later.

We are so blessed with healthy children.

Thank you, Lord.

College.Expense.

Conversation tonight between Silas and Jonas.

J: Silas, I told you to give me back my guns.
S: (running around the house with 2 guns.)
J: Fine. I'm just going to go get your money.
S: (laughing, smiling, continuing to run around the house with guns)
J: (goes to get money. brings it in the living room.)  Oh, Silas...I have your money.  (opens money jar. takes out a folded dollar. bites it. Literally.  Then shows it to Silas and smiles.)
S: (screaming) Jojo, I can't believe you did that.  That was my money for college!!!
J: (Laughs and runs to hide under the bar stool.)

NEVER.A.DULL.MOMENT.

Silas and his "bitten college money"  (I wonder if he was planning on taking the Nerf bullet that's in the jar as well...)

My Lil Worker....

Silas gets his homework folder every Thursday.  He has the weekend to work on it, and he returns it back to Montessori on Monday.

I know these pictures don't mean anything to the whole 5 or so people who read this, lol, but it really is a "holding place" for all of our memories.

I don't scrapbook. I know I probably should, but I guess this is our scrapbook.  :)

I never want to forget his "landing spot" for "doing his homework".

Joe- He just had to get a big cheesin' picture in there....  He is just thankful he isn't doing homework yet!! HA!

Girlfriend? Really?

Since when did this happen......

Momma don't think so.

Last Birthday Post.....promise!

Jonas had his birthday party Saturday evening.  He asked when he could have a friends party.  No "friends party" yet, only family.  Silas had his first "friends party" when he turned 5, so the same will be for Jojo.  As Joe says quite often, "I'm ok with it!" Ha!

He loved having his family over for cake and ice cream.  He decided on having an Angry Birds birthday cake.  I have always made their birthday cakes, except for Silas's last one.  We went to Walmart for that one.  Nothing against a Walmart cake, but I love being able to make by babies a cake and let them help! :)  Memories in the making!

Not Spoiled...but Don't Want...

If you know Jason and me, then you know that I do NOT want my kids to be spoiled.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to "want" for anything, but to get whatever they want??  This momma don't think so.

This is the first year that I took Silas shopping to pick out a present for his brother's birthday.  I told him to make sure and pick something that Joe would like....not what he would like! :)  Silas was SO excited about this!  He couldn't wait to buy his brother a gift!  As soon as Silas saw it, he saw it.  He knew immediately that was the present for his brother.  :)

Joe was VERY excited to have his two presents on his birthday.

Look at Joe's expression as he was opening up the gift Silas picked out for him!! :) Priceless!

Sweet brotherly love!  You just can't beat a toy shotgun and pistol!

(Notice that there are two of the exact same thing....Silas convinced me that Joe would want him to have one as well....after all he had to have someone to play with!)

celebratin' wit da peeps....

Jonas was so excited to find out that he was going to "celebrate" his birthday at preschool.  I talked to his teacher, Ms. Dana, about a good time.  Snack time!  I asked Joe what we would like to bring, and his response...  cookies with blue icing.  :)  He continually asks for this certain type of cookie every single time we go to Walmart.  I had to give in and buy them for his party at school!

I asked him who he wanted to sit beside him since he was the birthday boy....of course he said his brother! :) Sweet.

Birthday Boy

My Sweet Jonas Grey

You are now four years old! January 19, 2008 was such a happy day for us! It seems just yesterday I was walking into your nanny’s house telling her I wasn’t in any pain, but I knew that it was going to be the day. Sure enough, we dropped Silas off at your Nanny and Pop’s around 8:30p.m. and you were here at 10:45. You were so ready to enter this world! You were such a good baby….very easy and so loveable. I am so happy and proud that you are mine.

You are definitely your own little person. You march to your own drummer, that’s for sure. You have the sweetest little disposition. You are so kind to others. You are very caring. You love love love to hug and kiss on your momma….and believe me, I love to be on the receiving end of that!  You still like for me to hold you, love on you, and snuggle A LOT! You have the neatest little personality. To be honest, I refer to you as being quite odd and unique at times. That’s all the more reason to love you. You don’t mind to be different.

You are definitely a little guy. You are a little over 3 feet, but you only weigh 30 pounds. You wear a size 4 in pants, but we have to roll them up at the top so they will fit you in the waist. You are our little sleeper. You must get that one from your daddy. You’ve always been a great sleeper, and for that- I am thankful. You LOVE….shoes! It’s quite hilarious to me, but you make your daddy SO mad sometimes. You are obsessed with boots (like your momma), and you could possibly change shoes a couple times a day. I’ve finally had to limit your shoe selection, and you were NOT excited about that. You are learning more and more every single day. You are in Ms. Dana’s class at preschool/daycare. Once you get to school, you seem satisfied. However, you do NOT really like “school” at all. Every morning you will ask me if it’s “staying home day”…. And five days of the week, I have to say no. I give you credit for one thing, you are being consistent. You haven’t really liked school since you started last spring. But you are learning to like it. You are VERY excited about going to Montessori this fall.

You love anything involving MUSIC. You and your brother have recently discovered the Devil Went Down to Georgia. You simply love music! You love to rock it out on your Paper Jamz guitar with your brother. You love small little “trinkety” things. Anything little and cute definitely catches your eye. You are OBSESSED with money. For example, the last time you were at my office you asked Ms. Taylor if you could have those pennies on her desk. Joe, you really can’t ask people for money off of their desk. She gave them to you though, and you did put them in your penny bank. You drink…and you drink….and you drink. You will down a Capri Sun in a matter of 2 gulps. Sometimes your thirst concerns me, but it hasn’t seemed to be a problem. I guess you’re just a thirsty little guy.

You like your daddy, but you LOVE your momma. You are definitely a momma’s boy through ‘n through. You do love your daddy and appreciate everything he does for you. You have a great dad, and he loves you so much. You are a little afraid of your and Silas’s new four wheeler. You’d much rather ride with someone else. You love to go to church. You adore your Sunday School teacher, Ms. Krystal. You have “blue night-night” and “Snuggie.” They are both never too far away from you. You don’t take them to school, but they are always in the car waiting for you to return. There is a small tag on night-night, and you will rub your fingers over it as you fall fast asleep.

You are best friends with Silas. I love to watch my boys play, learn, and grow together. You both melt my heart when you play so well together. However, you both know how to throw down. You both fight daily. You both love each other daily. I pray y’all will remain best friends forever.

I am so proud of you, Jonas. You make my heart so happy. I never dreamed I could love anything so much. I can’t kiss and love you enough. You are an amazing little boy. I have a feeling you are going to continue to grow and develop into an amazing young man.

I pray for you all the time….both of my sweet boys. I pray that you will love Christ and have a love for others. I pray that you will serve Him all of your days. I pray that He uses you to glorify Him. I love you so much. I will always love you.

Love,
Momma

Bittersweet.....

For the past several days on the way to preschool, Jonas and I have the same conversation. It goes like this.....

me: Jonas, I can't believe you are turnin' four.  I just don't think I want you to grow up...You can just stay my baby forever!

Joe: Noooo.... (grins) I'm turning 4.

me: Do you have to turn 4?  3.

Joe: (grins) 4.

Long story short, as I am walking him to his classroom, we are still saying 3, 4 back and forth, and he is laughing!

This evening we were in the kitchen, and this is the conversation....

Joe: Momma, I gotta tell you sumpin.

me:  What is it, Jonas?

Joe: (grins) I really can't believe you are gonna let me turn 4!

me:  Well, I can't believe I'm going to let you turn 4 either, but sometimes we just have to let our little guys grow up....

Bittersweet.....

I love you my baby Jojo.....

Virtuous

vir·tu·ous adj.
1. Having or showing virtue, especially moral excellence: led a virtuous life.
2. Possessing or characterized by chastity; pure: a virtuous woman.

Wordle: Proverbs 31

Proverbs 31: 10-31......  I guess I'm going to vent for a sec, because it is SO tough!

To truly be the wife, mother, and person I need to be, I will have to read this daily, and pray even more....

No one said it was easy....

Someone has a birthday coming very soon.

Someone can't decide between a Lightening McQueen or an Angry Birds birthday cake.

Which one will it be?

Decisions, decisions....

Silas- On His Own...

Since the boys have their "very own" four-wheeler now, Silas was ready to take it out and give it a spin.  He was already becoming tired of riding in the yard, driveway, etc...

We all decided to go out and ride.  Silas will normally ride with Jason, and Joe rides with me.  This time... Silas was on his own.  He did great!  :)
